Insurance, Fees & FAQs

  • My current rates are:
    $185 for a standard 50-minute session
    $315 for a 90-minute extended session

Extended sessions can be really helpful for trauma work like EMDR and parts work, or for folks who just need a little more time to settle in and wrap up. It’s a bit less than the cost of two sessions, but gives us the space to slow down and do deeper work together.

  • I’m not in-network with insurance companies—and that’s intentional. Insurance often limits how long and how often we can meet, requires a diagnosis, and can ask for personal information that compromises your privacy. I want your therapy to be guided by your needs, not by an insurance company’s rules.

  • Yes. If you have out-of-network benefits, you may be able to get some money back for our sessions. To make that easier, I submit out-of-network claims on your behalf, so you don’t have to deal with paperwork or phone calls. Your insurance company will reimburse you directly based on your plan.

  • I know therapy is expensive—and I wish it were more accessible for everyone. The mental health system is deeply flawed, and while I can’t fix it on my own, here’s how I try to help:

I reserve several reduced-fee spots, including some very low-cost and pro bono sessions. These are prioritized for people who otherwise wouldn’t be able to access care—like women leaving abusive relationships. If cost is a barrier, feel free to reach out. I can’t always offer a reduced rate, but I’m open to the conversation.

  • As part of the No Surprises Act, you're entitled to know what therapy might cost before we start. I provide a Good Faith Estimate that outlines the expected cost of care based on how often and how long we plan to meet. You’ll receive this before your first session so you can make informed decisions without surprises.

  • Most people start with weekly 50-minute sessions, but we can adjust based on your needs. Some folks prefer biweekly, or longer 90-minute sessions—especially if we’re doing trauma work or you just want more space to dive in. Typically, people will reduce sessions over time as they achieve their goals and are feeling better!

  • That really depends on what you’re coming in for and what your goals are. Some people come for a few months, others stay longer for deeper work and ongoing support. We’ll check in regularly about how things are going and what feels right for you.

  • The first session is mostly about getting to know each other. We’ll talk about what’s bringing you in, what you’re hoping for, and go over any questions you have. It’s also a chance for you to get a feel for my style and see if it feels like a good fit.

  • My work is rooted in attachment theory and I integrate tools from EMDR, parts work (IFS), Emotionally Focused Therapy, and the Gottman Method. I bring a feminist, trauma-informed, and social justice-oriented lens to the work. My clients often describe me as warm, real, and collaborative—I'll be right there with you, and I’m not afraid to be direct when it’s helpful.
